Assume Equal Responsibility In Raising Children Children And Young People Essay

Assume Equal Responsibility In Raising Children Children And Young People Essay Naturally, family is made up of mother, father, and children. Children are supposed to be raised by both parents, and we all accept that father and mother have vital roles in upbringing their children into potential and useful people to contribute to social development. However, it is quite challenging if we want to compare whether mother or father is more important. What if mother is more important, is she has to assume more responsibility, or what if father is, ought he to assume more? On my point of view, in no account should parents assume unequal responsibility due to children development sake, the difficulty of raising children, and family happiness. Whether or not children are nurtured with equal responsibility from mother and father has effect on childrens development throughout their lives. With both cares, children get full experience of live from both mother and father because what father can give to children is different from that of the mother, but it doesnt mean one is less important than the other. Mother can teach children how to cook, how to sew, or how to deal with household chore while father can teach them how to fish, to be strong, or to protect oneself from any danger. And some circumstances children need advice from father and other circumstances, only mother is more suitable to give advice. On top of that it is also known that with both parents care, children benefit in their braveness. Children will feel confident around the house, at school, or elsewhere because they think they are equal to other, and they have both parents supporting them. Oppositely, if one side fails to care their children, it means that ha lf of knowledge is leak sine rarely can either a mother or father completely function as both roles. Not only does their knowledge is affected, but also children are more likely to have gone to wrong path as Peiitea in his article had quoted You need both eyes to see the clear path. Without one, it becomes blurry and you may be sidetracked from the path and may not be able to find your way again (peiitea, 2011). Imagine when a child who is fatherless or motherless walking on the street and sees other children with their mother and father, how would they feel? It would upset the children, and improper behavior will occur as the result of this upset feeling. The National Fatherhood Initiative, U.S. Bureau of Census for the FBI researched and gathered statistics related to children who were raised in a household without a father. Individuals who were father deprived make up 72% of all teenager murderers. 60% of the rapists in society also did not have an active father figure in their life. 70% of young people who are incarcerated today suffer from father  deprivation as well. Children who lack a father growing up are twice as likely to quit school and eleven times more likely to have violent behavior. Three out of four teenage suicides also have the common factor of an absentee father. 80% of adolescents in psychiatric hospitals do not have a father figure in their lives as well as 90% of all run-aways (Watergrl76, 2012). Moreover children also face confidence leaking problem with the absence of one side. Biologically, father is the one who give his daughter emotion confident, protection, and affection. According to an article online, women without fathers tend to have low self-confidence around men. They are weak and hide what their boundaries are (Paul, 2008). In all, It is precise that children without or less care from father do ruin their lives. The absence or unequal responsibility may upset their development. Secondly, raising children is not easy task. When they were babies, from milk, food, cloth, cleaning, learning to walk, or sleep is all stressful. They are twenty four hours needed to be taken care of. What if the baby gets sick, not only money that you have to pay but also the nervousness you encounter. As they grow up and go to school, more thing parents need to concern whether they study well, make friend with gangster, play school truant, or eat something unhealthy. Furthermore, every children is different, using old way to teach children will not work to your own children. You need more time to observe them and choose the best way. In an article I read online, mentions taking care children is extremely hard, and wrong way of teaching children is frustrating for you as well as the child. Raising the child alone is even tougher. (TOSSER, 2009). Mother or father alone cant handle those stresses. Remember besides your children who need care, you yourself also need to rest. You need a partner who can give encouragement and warm. Nevertheless, with both parents share responsibility, thing is solved. Last but not least, that both parent share equal responsibility increases family happiness. The more time you are with each other, the more understanding you have for each other. Everyone in the family feel close and warm. It brings peaceful environment to children as well the whole family. In an online article also proves that when both parents have a collaboration and fantastic agreement in adopting children, family makes less argument (Both Parents should Assume Equal Responsibility in Raising Children , 2011). In contrast, without one side care, both the children and the member family feel they are neglected. Children feel they dont receive love from father, and mother feel father dont willing to help her. Nothing is worse than parent care only working and dont have time for family. My counterpart might say that parents cant share equal responsibility because father is busier at work to own for the living. He doesnt have time to take care of their children. Mother needs to be responsible for it. This argument has some merit on the surface. Remember marriage is not all our sharing task to do, but love. Work at house, taking care of the baby and household, is much more stressful then the job outside. In addition, everyone is busy; it is just the matter of how you manage your time, and what if mother unfortunately passes away, who will take care of our children? How could you support to take care of them when you and they are almost stranger? If father dont have time for his children, it will reduce the family happiness. To sum up, because of the interest of childrens development, the stress of raising children, and the family satisfaction, sharing equal responsibility is a must. Every parent should take this into consideration because children are weak and innocent they need both cares and support to help them accept new thing, learn the social value, and meet with the social expectation.

Friendship Essay: The Qualities of a Best Friend -- friendship essay, m

Surely, everyone is fond of the idea of friendship. In fact, to most people living on this earth believe that friends are the most important part of their lives. There have been lots of sayings, quotes, movies and music about the theme, friendship; and this also impacted many people in the way they see the idea of having friends and that it is worthwhile to have someone to rely on. The importance of friendship cannot just be forgotten like a snap of one’s fingers. It has stuck on to the minds of people through movies, such as ‘Harry Potter’ and TV series, like ‘Friends’. Indeed, throughout the centuries, these shows and movies has really proven that friends are not someone one wants, but they are someone one needs. However, other adults strongly disagree with the idea of friendship being an important matter. It is even possible to say that adults do not have as many friends and consider the concept of friendship as such an important part because of the way their lives are structured. To begin with, most of the adults’ jobs are related to their jobs. It is the office or the workplace, they spend most of their time, and it is the colleagues, they spend most of their time interacting with. In other words, they do not have much time to socialize with other friends of their own. In contrast, not everyone can be a friend of others. Although people can be friends just by introducing themselves and greeting each other, that kind of friendship will not last for long. In fact, when looking at the concept of friendship in depth, the theme can be separated into two parts. One can basically have two kinds of friends, ‘good friends’ and ‘best friends’. Obviously, they are ‘friends’ for same purposes, but the difference lie underneath the ... ...best to give possible solutions to get over with the problem. Thus, everyone from these types can certainly be a good friend. However, only ‘life partners’ can be best friends. The people from the work place will probably have lives and families of their own; and the classmates will not do any good. Once a student graduates from a college, it is likely that they will not be in contact with the people they will to university with. Plus, it is hard to find them because they have separated to different parts of the world seeking for jobs. In addition, how close can people be friends with people from the street? And how much will they know about each other? So, there is really one person who is there for people if they are in need of company. Once married, it is their duty to care for one another and help them in any way they can and that is also the role of friends.

The Five Themes of Geography Geography: The study of people, their environments, their resources and the interactions among them The Five Themes of Geography are: 1. Location 2. Place 3. Human Environment Interaction 4. Movement of People Goods and Ideas 5. Region 1. Location: Where something is located on the Earth’s Surface Relative – Location of Something in relation to something else (Ex: A house in relation to the street address) Absolute – An exact location of something on the earth’s surface using the lines of latitude and longitude. Longitude – The angular distance east or west of the prime meridian that stretches from the North Pole to the South Pole. Latitude – An Imaginary line joining points on the earth’s surface that are all equal distance north or south of the equator. It measures 0o on the equator and are parallel lines. 2. George Orwells Nineteen Eighty-Four 1984 :: essays research papers

Nineteen Eighty Four Short Essay   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In Canada, we have the freedom to do almost anything. In the novel Nineteen Eighty Four, there is no freedom. Although there are no laws in Oceania, there are consequences to doing thoughtcrime. The consequences are used not for punishment but for the limitation of people who may perform a crime in the future. There are many differences in our society today and the society that of Nineteen Eighty Four. In our society today, we encourage thinking. Even in schools, children are taught to express themselves in any way possible. Story writing, acting, or even art, there are a variety of ways to achieve that while in Oceania, children are taught to spy on their parents to see if they are having thoughtcrimes. Thoughtcrime is a word in Newspeak that controls any individual thought. One cannot think on his or her own. He or she can only think what the government tells or allows him or her to think. If they are ever caught with thoughtcrime, he or she would be vapourized. Freedom of speech is limited due to the fact that thought can lead to the destruction of the government. Speech is also restricted due the Newspeak. Newspeak limits the words one can use to eliminate thoughtcrime. Without words, one cannot fully express themselves.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The people of Oceania do not have the freedom of expression like we do. Without thought, there is no expressions of any kind, which makes him or her a goodthinker. A goodthinker is one that knows naturally, without thought, how to behave or act according to the government. In society today, there is freedom of expression everywhere. In magazines, on televisions, on people themselves and even communication. People express themselves through their clothing, while in the book, everyone wears the same thing. There is no freedom of expression whatsoever. In both magazines and television, people express their opinion all the time with no fear of being vapourized or the fear of the consequences the community of Oceania has to face. Today, people will protest against the government for what they believe in. For example, teachers protested Bill 160 in the streets against the government. There would never be public protests against the government in Oceania.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  History is important for one to know of what has happened in the past and learn from it. We are able to learn history through books, videos and even from people.

Analysis around Freuds view of the human mind Essay

This essay aims to discuss the key ideas behind Freud’s theories, including his model of the mind, psychosexual development, repression and cure through therapeutic techniques. Sigman Freud (1856 to 1939) was an Austrian physician, with an interest in the workings of the subconscious mind. â€Å"Freud spent his life trying to produce coherent a set of theories to explain all human behavioural, but never achieved his goal of one grand theory, (Benson, 1999, P48).  According to Freud, the mind has three levels of consciousness. The conscious equates to 1/7th of the mind, being ‘the awareness we have when awake.’ The pre-conscious, is a boundary containing memories of dreams, and causing slips of the tongue. Finally, the unconscious. Making up 6/7ths of the mind and containing ‘thoughts completely hidden and unavailable to us,’ (Benson, 1999, P47). Freud’s model divides the mind in to three parts: the Id, Ego and Superego. He believed that the first to develop was the Id, operating on the pleasure principle, in the unconscious mind. The Id ‘is the dark, inaccessible part of our personality,’ (Freud, 1933 p27). It drives a baby to seek pleasure, like ‘drink food warmth and comfort and avoid the unpleasureable, like hunger, being wet and cold†¦ The Id is selfish and ‘not concerned with social rules, but only with self gratification,’ (Cardwell et al, 1997 p549). The Id is made of two components. Benson (1999, P51) describes the first, Libido, as ‘the inborn energy we have that motivates us to survive.’ The second component, Freud named Thanatos, and described as the death instinct, expressed through aggression towards self and others. Cardwell et al (1997) explain that the Id’s discharge of energy and excitation without regard for consequence is known as primary proc ess thinking. At around two years old the human mind recognises the need to be realistic and plan for the future, rather than surviving on primary instinct. Thus the ego develops. Operating on the reality principle, it battles the Id for control of behaviour. Unlike the Id, the Ego has a partly conscious, secondary thought process. ‘The ego is still, however, essentially selfish, i.e. protecting the individual from harm,’ (Benson, 1999, p51). At around 3, we start to absorb influence from our parents and the Super Ego begins to develop. The Super Ego expands from our learned morals and the conventions of society. ‘Super means above – looking down and monitoring the â€Å"Id-Ego† Battle,’ (Benson, 1999, P52). Like the Ego, the Super Ego is partly conscious; however it is not selfish and considers others too. As it develops it becomes ‘our social conscience and guides us towards sociably acceptable behaviour.’ (Cardwell et al, 1997, p549).  Freud was responsible for modern society’s understanding of the effects childhood experiences can have on adult personalities. He split the childhood into five stages of psychosexual development. During the first, the Oral stage from 0 to 2 years, the only drive present is the Id. Focused on survival, the Id drives the baby to feed by suckling. Thus the mouth becomes the main source of pleasure. Benson (1999, p52) states that ‘through oral satisfaction the baby develops trust and an optimistic personality.’  From 2 to 3 years, the child becomes aware of its bowels and how to control them. Here begins the Anal Stage, as ‘the focus of gratification shifts to the anus†¦ aiding with potty training,’ a vital step to independence and survival, (Benson, 1999, P54). However, withholding elimination goes against the Id’s nature of random discharge without regard for consequence. This results in the requirement for an ego to develop, ‘and as such has important implications in the personality later in life,’ (Cardwell et al, p550, 1997). The phallic stage, from 3 to 5 years, starts when children become aware of sexual differences and become curious about their own genitals. Benson (1999) explains that boys will develop differently to girls from here on. Boys will develop Oedipus Complex and unconsciously experienced a sequence of sub stages. Firstly he will develop a strong desire for his mother. Then, after noticing the strong (sexual) bond between her and his father, he will become deeply jealous of his father and hate him. The boy’s fear of his father uncovering these thoughts instils a fear of the ultimate punishment, castration. The boy resolves that to avoid castration by pleasing his farther, and at the same time impress his mother, he must become like his father. This is called identification. Girls, having unconsciously concluded that they have already been castrated, do not develop the same fears. Though, ‘since their mother is the same, girls also end up identifying, i.e. adopting their mother’s morality and gender roles. This was always rather vague’ and known as the Electra Complex (Benson, 1999, p56).

Essay on document entitled “Free Printing Being Abused” Essay

As puke be gleaned from the article entitled melt Printing being Abused by Mark Burk, he is dismayed on how authoritative most of the students argon in their actions. Students must understand that free mental picture offered by the library is a prerogative and not a right. It is an initiative of the academe to provide convenience to their students. It is a unselfish concern of the civilize to its students. Burk pointed out the shave of resources particularly papers. As ein truth matchless socks, raw materials of a paper come from trees. In perfectly it comes from temper. When one excesss a piece of paper, it is tant essence(predicate) a small percent ripen of nature destruction. When all of paper waste as a result of irresponsible picture will be collectively accounted for, it mogul be tantamount to killing one big tree in the forest. temper is on that point to provide our needs and let us not allow this take to be futile. It is not just a waste of resources as point ed out by Burk. It is also a waste of electrical energy and a waste of printer toner (ink). This irresponsible action of most students contributes to the overall expenses of the school. It is very painful to render for services when you know that this is a result of immaturity and wise to(p) unwanted actions.Burk has a point into do students pay for each paper they print. As he said, this is to minimize the abuse students are doing basically because it is heavy on the sackful to pay for something not valu able standardized paper wastes. Another point for qualification students pay is for the continuing maintenance of the printer. merely on the other hand, making students pay for each page printed is rather a temporary and a weak radical to the paradox. The root of the business must be addressed and that root cause of the problem is moral values system of students. The school must always instill in their students the importance of conservation and the importance of responsi bility for their actions. In this manner, the root cause of the problem is extinguished. Always remember not to waste any resources because in this day and age most of our resources are depleted and there will come a clock that we will experience scarcity in resources such as papers and electrical energy and sad to say that they will endless be free by that metre and you have to pay huge amount of money just to be able to obtain those resources.

Devoted Son

Devoted Son

Analytical essay In the story â€Å"The devoted son† by Anita Desai. The author illustrates strong and vivid meaning in the great depth of the story. The Author portrays a truth. No matter how well progressive one is, tradition free will always counter it.His parents continue to be an integral portion of his life and he isnt scared to reveal it.We can’t have this happening again. †(Desai, 79). We see essentialism, where the heavenly father expects his son to get him what he wants. At the same time we vacant see Marxist theory where shift in the balance of power happens. You smile, and the remainder of apply your entire body will catch on.

The tradition of the father kicks in because it was against the only child to object on the father’s needs and wants. The essentialism here is clear. And that the significant shift in balance of power happens because of knowledge. Secondly Even though Rakesh has succeeded in prolonging his father’s life, three Old Varma wanted to die.It is tricky to describe the sensation. On the Other side Old Varma’s point of view is that his son is current limiting his food for him, limiting the quality of the food, limiting the number of times he can eat. Rakesh rejects his father’s desires, where Varma sees it as torture. He complains to his neighbour about that.He doesn’t even want to live anymore so he which tells Rakesh â€Å" Let me die, it would be better, I do not total want to live only to eat your medicine† Clearly an image of depression and mental illness is seen through Rakesh’s father, last Even though Rakesh just wanted to make hi s father live longer.Rogers life has been full of love due to his family members and friends.

Dalymple. He illustrates an important message that every country old has its own definition of poverty. Corruption has started by the government. â€Å"Theyll find her a new flat.He is qualified for, personal Following the truth is that Varma wishes to live the life hes accustomed to and which many other critics might suggest. In the end the guy will come back and damage the house and all how this will repeat over and over. One of the literary devices in this quote is sarcasm. â€Å"†¦because its unacceptable poverty in this day and age to live without them. [ furniture, television, and refrigerator]† The author sarcastically expresses his opinion on poverty in UK.My husband and Ive been married for over 35 decades.

They get spoiled by luxury. Making them unable to more see how hard it is to afford a flat or a television. This quote also what has situational irony. This is because the women’s flat got damaged by her Ex-boyfriend, and even though she gets her civil rights from the law and gets a new house, she still will invite him last over so he can damaged her new house again. My dad is still in shock at the moment, she explained. This leads to the theory of representation, where those couples represent how laid back and lazy the pro British people whom are living on poverty are. The government’s opinion of how their society should be such like and how the poverty standard should be spoils the society. Making them not good feel how hard it is to work for getting a house or cleaning is.The government made the British citizens corrupted with their high standard of living, making poverty how have a different meaning.Ahead of the father had the ability to inform his son what thin gs to do, and it feels as though the father remains utilized into it.

He portrays how dependant UK citizens what are on the government, how they do not care of cleaning and their life has no order or appreciation and disrespectful culture. This shows Discrimination theory of difference. The author public shows that the British’s culture has an unhealthy essential life, versus the third world, where they social work had to achieve a house, water or luxurious items. Narrator talks about the struggle going on to achieve a house. The families had lots of admiration. While as UK’s poverty has a very high standard, the citizens do not know how hard it is to live, and they abuse the laws. Therefore every country what has it is own definition of poverty. In the documentary â€Å"Ban into Brothers†, Briski gives her view on an extremely important message. This message is that parents and society are the major influences on a childs future.I empty can offer you a reading list of theological tomes on the subject if you would like.

On the other hand, Avijit is a particular drug addict (hash). Basically, Avijit is living in the very lowest class. He has no home, wired and education is not easy for him. Avijit says: â€Å"We dont have enough time to live let alone to study.Talk about how the both of youd like decision making to perform the job.Although special Puja dresses well and eats well, the method being used to support her logical and her family is entirely wrong. This leads to the analytical theory of commodotisation. Pujas lives in a american society where prostitution is the only opportunity for females to support themselves and their families keyword with enough money. This is evident when Pujas family pulls her out of school early in order to make more money, sooner, to better support their family.Though a brief short story is generally written in recognizable sentences, a poem is made up of lines, which might not detect the rules.

In conclusion, in all 3 previous steps, there is one common truth. In the stories of â€Å"What is poverty† by T. Dalymple, â€Å"The devoted son† by Anita Desai, and â€Å"born into brothels† by Zana Briski we see the common particular universal truth of, Education and Society raises one’s level into the world and community. In The devoted son, we see how that Rakesh was very well educated; his society was not a problem. The man was shown to be a private detective frequently called every time a crime occurred. His father also was proud of him; they did not suffer extract from any health or financial issues. Rakesh was lucky to be one of the people whom are on the higher level. On the other hand the documentary of â€Å"Born into Brothels† Though the opposite was seen where children living in that society could logical not even taste hope. That society only allowed the girls to become prostitutes and men to become pimps if they wanted to make mone y to live with the basic physiological needs. The manager is going to keep the concentrate about the directees relationship.
